Effects of Pollution: Over the past years, there has been a growing global concern over the impacts of pollution on the environment and humans. Of much importance has been the growing burden of diseases that has continued to affect humans due to environmental pollution. Environmental related illnesses may not be easily detectable.
Short-term effects may include simple symptoms such as headaches, nausea and allergic reactions. These symptoms could lead to irritation of the eyes, nose and throat. There are also severe cases which could lead to upper respiratory infections such as pneumonia and bronchitis.
The negative effect on human health also affects the central nervous system. The studies confirmed that an early exposure of children to the high levels of air pollution have the same negative effects on the central nervous system as autism spectrum disorder and schizophrenia.
The impact that humans have on the environment includes changes to biophysical environments and ecosystems, biodiversity, and natural resources caused directly or indirectly by humans, including global warming, environmental degradation (such as ocean acidification, mass extinction and biodiversity loss, ecological crises, and ecological collapse.
